NanciFaqs...
These are not from a factory or mass produced from molds. I am totally self taught, I have never taken classes for this or attended any formal art school. These are created using leaves from my own garden and I work in my suburban backyard, not a studio. Though my husband is an incredible help to me in every other aspect of this adventure, the artwork is mine alone. So if you are looking for a very special, one of a kind piece of nature inspired art, this is as unique and personal as it gets!
This is a selection of current and past work. Pieces currently available may be seen on the "Items for Sale" page. If you are interested in any others you see here, please send me an email at(http://nancis_creative_castings@yahoo.com) and I will let you know if they may still be available. Thanks for your interest!
Information and Care of Sandcastings
I offer a Care and Information sheet with my art pieces, BUT sometimes I'm so happy to be selling something that I forget to give them out (...rookie!...). So if you are one of those people I missed, here it is in it's entirety!
You have acquired a one of a kind (OOAK) piece. It was fashioned entirely by hand (mine!), and I put a little love into each one I create. This is cement, not ceramic or pottery, and there is a difference. Cement will actually continue to cure and strengthen for years (in fact, the Hoover Dam is still not fully cured!), and will theoretically last forever if given a little care. Cold will not harm it, but if ice is left to form in the veins it could crack, plus if protected from winter weather the paint will endure much longer. If you would want to use it as a serving dish, I recommend wrapped candy, nuts in the shell, etc. My pieces are in gardens across the country, at Carruth’s Garden Smiles/Waterville, Oh., and in St Luke’s Hospital/Maumee, Oh. (which has one of my Cabbage leaves decorating their Birthing Center!)
Note: If the piece is a birdbath, insert post into ground first – do not push post into ground using the birdbath.
I hope you enjoy it! Thank You!
